We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.
Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information we collect may include:
Sensitive Information. When necessary, with your consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, we process the following categories of sensitive information:
What face data we collect. When you choose to take a skin scan, we collect the selfie photo you take with your camera or select from your photo library. Before the photo leaves your device, the app reduces its resolution and removes metadata (including any location data). We also store the results derived from the photo — numeric cosmetic scores (0–100) and short text notes about the visible appearance of your skin. These derived results are numbers and text only; they are not images and cannot be used to reconstruct your face. We do not create faceprints, face geometry maps, or biometric templates, and we do not use face data to identify you or anyone else.
How face data is used. Your selfie is used for exactly one purpose: to generate your cosmetic skin-appearance analysis and personalized skincare routine, at your request. Face data is never used for advertising or marketing, never used to identify you, never sold or rented to anyone, and never used to train AI models.
Where face data is stored and who it is shared with. Your photo is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket hosted by our cloud provider, Supabase (servers in the United States), accessible only to your account. To produce your analysis, the photo is transmitted securely to our AI service provider, Anthropic, which processes it solely to generate the analysis and does not use it to train its AI models. No other third party receives your face data: our analytics (PostHog) and crash-reporting (Sentry) tools never receive photos or photo data.
How long face data is retained. By default, your selfie is permanently deleted from storage immediately after the analysis completes — typically within seconds, and always as part of processing the same scan. Only the derived scores and notes are kept so you can track your progress. If you explicitly opt in to Progress Photos, your selfies are instead kept in your private gallery so you can compare them over time, until you delete them or delete your account. Deleting your account (in the app: Profile → Delete account) permanently deletes all of your photos, results, and personal data.
Your consent and control. We ask for your explicit consent before your first photo is captured or uploaded, and we record when you gave it. You can decline (the app will not scan), opt out of Progress Photos at any time, and delete your data or account at any time.
Payment Data. We may collect data necessary to process your payment if you choose to make purchases, such as your payment instrument number and the security code associated with your payment instrument. Social Media Login Data. We may provide you with the option to register with us using your existing Apple account details (Sign in with Apple). If you choose to register in this way, we will collect certain profile information about you from Apple, as described in the section "How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?" below.

As part of our Services, we offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies ("AI Products"). These tools are designed to enhance your experience and provide you with innovative solutions.
We provide the AI Products through third-party service providers ("AI Service Providers"), including Anthropic. Your input, output, and personal information will be shared with and processed by these AI Service Providers to enable your use of our AI Products.

Your choices: AI image analysis is the core function of Glow and only runs when you choose to take a scan — no photo is ever analyzed without your action and consent. If you do not want your data processed by our AI Service Provider, do not take a scan; you can also delete your data or your account at any time (see "Face Data (Selfie Photos)" in Section 1 for how photos are handled and deleted).
Our Services offer you the ability to register and log in using your third-party social media account details (like your Apple or Google login). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, email address, and profile picture.
We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this Privacy Notice. We are not responsible for other uses of your personal information by your third-party social media provider. We recommend that you review their privacy notice.
Our servers are located in the United States. Regardless of your location, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored by, and processed by us in our facilities and in the facilities of the third parties with whom we may share your personal information. If you are a resident in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, then these countries may not have data protection laws as comprehensive as those in your country.
We have implemented the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of personal information. These clauses require all recipients to protect all personal information that they process originating from the EEA or UK in accordance with European data protection laws and regulations. Our Standard Contractual Clauses can be provided upon request.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us.
Face data (selfie photos) follows a shorter schedule: by default each selfie is permanently deleted immediately after your analysis completes, and photos are only retained if you explicitly opt in to Progress Photos — see "Face Data (Selfie Photos)" in Section 1. Deleting your account permanently deletes all photos and personal data.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

Withdrawing your consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the details in section 14.

Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases.

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.

We only collect sensitive personal information as defined by applicable privacy laws or for purposes allowed by law or with your consent. We do not collect or process sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.
